TRIUMF is seeking a Logistics Specialist to join our Logistics team, supporting the efficient operation of Stores, Shipping, Receiving, and TRIUMF’s pick-up and delivery services. In this role, you will maintain accurate inventory records, provide excellent customer service, and ensure all logistics tasks comply with TRIUMF policies and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain Stores inventory, including:

    • Performing cycle counts

    • Issuing inventory and processing returns

    • Completing data entry, filing, and document management

  • Support all SCM-Logistics tasks, including Stores, Shipping, Receiving, and pick-up/delivery services

  • Perform local pick-ups and deliveries during staff shortages

  • Follow TRIUMF’s site access policies (TSOP-10) and issue DRDs and parking passes to contractors and others as required

  • Accurately enter data into TRIUMF’s ERP and DRD programs, troubleshooting and resolving discrepancies

  • Complete logistics tasks in accordance with TRIUMF policy, such as:

    • Shipping and receiving

    • Stock counts, item issues, dosimeter records

    • Convenience packaging, restocking, and customer service

  • Assist with shipping/receiving of hazardous goods, including:

    • Preparing shipping documentation

    • Scheduling local pick-ups and deliveries

    • Loading/unloading trucks, packaging, and processing damaged shipments

  • Coordinate with end users, Procurement, and suppliers to resolve over/under shipments and damage issues

  • Document damaged goods in the ERP system and report items requiring insurance claims

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong communication and customer service skills

  • Comfortable working in a computerized environment with accurate, efficient data entry

  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook; basic web content management skills

  • Capable of driving a forklift and safely operating a panel van in city traffic

  • Physically capable of lifting and moving heavy items

  • Certified in TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods)

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • High school graduation required; post-secondary courses in related programs are an asset

  • 3–4 years of relevant experience

  • Valid Class 5 B.C. Driver’s License

  • TRIUMF forklift certification

  • Current TDG training (Air and Road)

  • Strong computer, typing, and data entry skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Must be legally entitled to work in Canada on a permanent basis (Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident)

  • Annual salary: $51,085.00 plus comprehensive benefits
