Experienced Procurement Specialist

We are looking for a talented detail-oriented and experienced Procurement Specialist to join our dynamic team.

Position Summary:
The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and preparing customer quotes for packaging materials. This role is a critical link in transitioning new customers and items into the day-to-day operations of the team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Source and procure primary and secondary packaging materials (e.g., cartons, labels, bottles, shrink wrap, pallets).
• Source and procure non-packaging items upon request.
• Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, cost, delivery, and service.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with packaging vendors.
• Collaborate with internal teams including sales, design, production, and customer service to ensure packaging requirements are met.
• Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings or innovation in packaging.
• Maintain accurate procurement records.
• Support sustainability and packaging optimization initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business Administration or a related field.
• 5+ years of procurement experience, Prior experience in estimating, project management, or Inside Sales may also be considered.
• Working knowledge of packaging materials, suppliers, and manufacturing processes preferred.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Strong strategic thinking with the drive to create internal and external relationships.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical abilities.
• Proficiency in ERP systems, strong Excel and MS Office Skills.
• Experience in a distribution environment is preferred.
