THE OPPORTUNITY
The Buyer will be responsible for placing orders, sourcing materials, meeting delivery/supplier
responsiveness needs and obtaining quotes for new and existing products as well as regular activities
of the plant. The incumbent is expected to track and maintain the status of their orders.
*This is a one-year contract position that is Hybrid (3 days per week) in our Montreal HQ*
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
People:
• Work with the inventory management team to ensure that all deliveries satisfy the assigned
purchase orders and report any back-ordered or missing products
• Assist the Material Supervisor with maintaining proper inventory levels of materials used on a
regular basis
• Work closely with Product Managers and R&D Managers on new products.
• Work closely with Supply Chain Management to support strategic initiatives as required
• Work with QA and suppliers on generating and processing RMA’s. Participate in corrective
action requests.
Process:
• Develop an efficient and accurate system for monitoring all open purchase orders
• Deliver a weekly purchase order report to management that indicates the vendor invoice
number for all closed purchase orders
• Purchase materials to support production, maintenance, R&D and offices activities, including
die/mold/tooling purchases or revisions to existing equipment.
• Source and develop good supplier partnerships for materials being purchased, including
inventory stocking programs. Coordinate with Supply Chain Manager & Material Planner.
• Process supplier credit applications.
• Participate in purchasing and freight cost reduction initiatives that support company goals.
• Responsible for placing and maintaining purchase orders.
Performance:
• Track incoming purchase order receipts and take corrective action as required. Ability for clear
communication on receipt dates that could affect operations.
• Reconcile discrepancies between supplier shipments & contractual obligations.
• Ensure system integrity, i.e. supplier lead times, standard costs, purchase order receipt date
• Maintain min/max volumes in database, based on MRP.
• Utilize the Syteline ERP system in the execution of the daily job requirements. Continually look
for & suggest new methods for developing & making the system more effective & user friendly.
• Provide/Follow-up metrics based on supplier’s performance.
• Ensure performance metrics are sustained, i.e. Health & Safety, Quality, Delivery, Costs and
others, and work to implement corrective actions
• Perform other duties as required
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED
• Experience in Purchasing and commensurate education.
• Experience in raw material purchasing preferred.
• Position requires someone who is self-motivated and proactive.
• Experienced in a manufacturing environment and use in ERP operating software.
• Meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational and tim• Utilize the Syteline ERP system in the execution of the daily job requirements. Continually look

• Experienced with lean initiatives.
• Familiarity with ISO
• Military experience is a plus.
