TRIUMF is seeking a Logistics/Stores Specialist to join our team and support the efficient operation of the Logistics group. In this role, you will perform a variety of Stores functions, maintain accurate inventory records, support shipping and receiving activities, and ensure compliance with TRIUMF policies and safety standards.
Under general supervision, the incumbent is responsible for performing Stores functions that support the Logistics group.
Accurately enter data into the computerized DRD program and issue DRDs and parking passes to contractors and other personnel as required.
Ensure Stores tasks are completed according to TRIUMF policy, including:
Shipping and receiving
Stock counts and item issues
Dosimeter records
Convenience packaging of small parts
Restocking inventory
Providing customer service
Maintain and manage computerized data entry systems in Stores, including the item issuing system and inventory stock counts.
Assist in maintaining Stores inventory through tasks such as:
Inventory replenishments
Inventory analysis
Maintaining the inventory catalog (updating supplier info, part numbers, prices, order points, etc.)
Assist with shipping for general domestic inbound shipments and B3 entries.
Perform receiving for all inbound shipments, including parcels, freight, dangerous goods, purchase order, and non-purchase order shipments; track assets and maintain accurate records.
Troubleshoot over shipments, under shipments, and damaged shipments, reporting issues to the appropriate party.
Operate a light-duty delivery van for local pickups and deliveries around the Lower Mainland.
Conduct periodic maintenance checks on TRIUMF vehicles (fluid levels, tire pressures, cleanliness) and report any required maintenance or repairs.
Strong communication and customer service skills
Comfortable in a computerized environment with accurate, efficient data entry
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and ERP systems
Basic web content management skills
Capable of driving a forklift and safely operating a panel van in city traffic
Physically able to lift and move heavy items
Familiarity with TRIUMF’s site access policies (TSOP-10) as they relate to the SCM-Logistics group
1–3 years of relevant experience
Valid Class 5 B.C. Driver’s license
Forklift certification and TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods) training for both Air and Road, including Class 7 – Radioactive Materials, is an asset; incumbent must complete this training if not already certified
Applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada as a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or with a work permit valid for at least 12 months after the start date
Annual salary: $44,200 CAD plus our comprehensive benefits
