ABOUT THE POSITION

Performs activities involved with procuring goods and services such as raw materials, parts and supplies for the organization.  Accurately tracks and counts inventory and keeps management informed of current inventory levels at Manufacturers Road facility by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.

 

Deliverables & Responsibilities

·         Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability and delivery schedules.

·         Monitors process set on receiving product in an effort to eliminate lost or misdirected inventory.

·         Locates discrepancies and determines reason for inventory differences and makes any necessary adjustments in system accordingly.

·         Validates inventory discrepancies, researches and identifies root causes to formulate recommendations in the form of process enhancements to improve inventory accuracy.

·         Works with other company personnel as required to correct inventory issues.

·         Performs follow-up action to ensure all parts are available at the proper time.

·         Enters all machine and work orders and changes to machine and work orders into computer system.

·         Closes machine and work orders when complete

·         Enters price changes and sets up "c" numbers for component parts into computer system.

·         Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.

·         Communicates with Engineering on Bill of Material (BOM) adjustments, changes and errors.

·         Familiar with all aspects of inventory control, MPP and Cycle Count systems.

·         Counts inventory levels for designated location.

·         Corrects discrepancies as necessary.

·         Works with other personnel as required to correct inventory issues.

·         Completes special projects related to inventory as assigned.

·         Maintains obsolete inventory database and works with management to reduce it.

·         Participates in physical inventory by counting inventory at determined intervals and assisting in the preparation of final inventory reports when requested.

·         Participates on project teams involving business processes implementation, documentation and analysis that intertwines with Inventory Control.

·         Writes and runs reports as needed for management and others.

·         Works with accounting personnel and outside auditors as needed throughout the year.

·         Operates forklift when necessary.

 

To be successful in this role, your experience and competencies are:

·         High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.  Associate's degree (A.A. or A.S.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred.

·         Minimum of two (2) years of purchasing, inventory control, material handling and/or cycle counting experience or training required.

·         Direct experience with a computer-based inventory control/management software a plus.

·         Background in heavy equipment preferred.

·         Heavy equipment parts experience a plus.

·         Knowledge of various shipping methods a plus.

·         Previous experience operating a forklift a plus.
