Description

General Purpose of Job:

The Procurement Specialist will manage a supplier base to ensure procedures and processes are in place so transactions flow smoothly to and from suppliers. This person will be responsible for maximizing existing and new Client account revenue by delivering a world-class experience to customers and partners by providing the absolute best service. Cross functional teamwork is essential to the position and requires good communication and understanding of internal processes for problem resolution. This position will also assist in procuring products in the most cost-effective manner including price and is responsible for management and coordination of procurement tasks to support the on-time delivery of goods and services. The person in this role will have excellent communication skills to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships and can focus simultaneously on short term deliverables and continuous improvement initiatives to deliver long term value to internal customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate ownership, management and coordination of procurement tasks and dependencies to ensure goods and services critical to the launch of new sites are planned for, ordered and delivered on time
  • Build strong trusting relationships with our Clients through our exceptional service offering and coordination while acting as single point of contact for our Clients.
  • Track and report project progress and performance, proactively identify risks, issues and manage mitigation plans when necessary
  • Track Order status and work with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of all equipment
  •  Provide guidance, coaching and technical support to internal customers to embed use of best practice processes
  • Ensure the optimal flow of materials to meet production deadlines while minimizing inventory costs.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accurate stock levels.
  • Collaborate with logistics to manage inbound shipments and deliveries.
  • Use forecasting techniques to predict future material needs and reduce excess inventory.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for purchasing, inventory, and production schedules.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Generate regular reports on procurement activities, inventory status, and production schedules for senior management.
  • Work closely with the sales, production, and logistics teams to ensure alignment between supply chain activities and overall company objectives.
  • Support the development of processes to streamline purchasing and scheduling workflows.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements within procurement, production scheduling, and inventory management to drive cost savings and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Lead or participate in initiatives aimed at streamlining workflows, reducing waste, and improving resource utilization across the supply chain.
  • Utilize Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies to monitor and enhance supply chain performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement the best practices and achieve measurable improvements in delivery times, inventory turnover, and supplier performance.
  • Performs full range of standard professional level work that typically requires processing and interpreting, more complex, less clearly defined issues. Identifies problems and possible solutions and takes appropriate action to resolve
  • Demonstrates skill in data analysis techniques by resolving missing/incomplete information, inconsistencies/anomalies in more complex research/data
  • Maintain accurate records of purchasing activities, supplier performance, and order status. 
  • Prepare and review regular reports on purchasing activities and supplier performance. 
  • Assist in the preparation of tender documents and RFPs (Request for Proposals) as required.
  • Must live in the Atlanta, GA area
  • Shift: 2:00pm EST - 10:00pm EST
  • Salary range: $45K-$60K

Requirements

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2-3 years of experience in Purchasing and/or Supply Chain
  • Proven experiences in procurement, purchasing, or scheduling (preferably in a manufacturing environment).
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles, inventory control, and production scheduling.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly and consistently organize, prioritize, and execute in a high-energy high-demand environment. 
  • Able to manage their workload and prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and supply chain management software (ERP systems such as QAD, SBWED, etc.).
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement methodologies is a plus.
