We are looking for an Operations Manager, GIS & Surveys to help grow our business and contribute to our future.  

As a key member of the Operations Management Team, the Operations Manager, GIS & Surveys assumes a leadership role in advancing divisional and business unit planning; end-to-end service excellence processes; and resource utilization across all Delivery / Operational business units.  The Operations Manager works closely with key members of the Product Team and is responsible for bringing/articulating the operational perspective to short and long term planning for the GIS and Surveys product lines. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Registry Operations, other highlights include:

  • Providing guidance, leadership and day-to-day operational direction to direct reports that includes,
  • Creating, monitoring and evaluating the business unit plan to ensure coordination and/or interface(s) with other business units to achieve business unit and corporate goals. That includes effective management of resource allocation to meet core business and project goals while providing linkages to other business units and ISC programing.
  • Responsible to manage the delivery of quality product(s) and/or service(s) while meeting stated delivery and standards targets defined by internal measures and contractual requirements (example: turnaround times, rejection rates, etc.). 
  • Participates in the development of Product Line strategies and plans
  • Responsible to ensure that contractual requirements through the Master Service Agreement and with other customer committed contracts meet critical non-negotiable service delivery standards and expectations, including timeliness, quality and accuracy.
  • Provides excellent customer service to customers by fostering a customer service focus within the business unit.  Ensures the customer voice is heard by resolving immediate issues and ensuring customer concerns are addressed appropriately in long-term product development planning.

What you’ll need:

  • A combination of post-secondary education and 4–6 years of progressively responsible leadership experience, or an equivalent blend of education and professional background that demonstrates the required competencies.
  • Candidates with a degree or diploma in Surveying, Engineering, or GIS, will be given preference. Additional consideration will be given to those who hold a Saskatchewan Land Surveyor (SLS) designation.
  • Completion of continuous improvement training such as Lean Six Sigma and /or Change Management courses will be considered an asset.
  • Leadership skills and knowledge of management concepts using a high degree of judgement, discretion and integrity to ensure smooth operations of the business unit.
  • Ability to lead business unit initiatives, including ongoing process improvement and integration of project or corporate initiatives with the ability to lead successful change.
