About the position:
The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations in the Branch and is also responsible for strategic direction and leadership, including staff and service administration. The Operations Manager will be responsible for employee development and retention, in compliance with labor laws and any relevant legislation governing the workplace. This role is to effectively and efficiently manage the development and directions of the operational team to support the growth of revenue, technical productivity and promote high quality customer satisfaction while building relationships and ensuring the integration of strategic plans with company operations.
This position is a fantastic opportunity to have a direct impact on operations and lead a team to achieve exemplarily results. The position will enable the selected candidate to utilize their previous experience, skills and knowledge to manage the strategic direction of the Branch.
As a Canadian Energy team member, a typical week will include the following:
Strategic Business Development. Collaborate with product development, market research, advertising, public relations, and sales departments to develop integrated positioning strategies to ensure maximum brand exposure for the company. Negotiate agreements with suppliers and service providers and leverage corporate buying power.
Operational Performance. Monitor and engage Branch resources to ensure the Branch has the people, equipment, and tools necessary to deliver on the operational plan and business strategy. Achieve established profit targets through growing revenue, controlling expenses, and managing inventory accuracy through cycle counts. Report key performance metrics established for the Branch. Provide written and verbal reports on operations on an ongoing basis and other written reports as requested from time to time.
Inventory Management. Ensuring appropriate inventory levels are achieved by following set re-order points and communicate required adjustments to the Supply Chain Department.
Product Expertise. Be familiar with all product lines and customer applications and regularly participate in product training and information sessions. Continually share knowledge with team members and provide opportunities to learn more about products and customer applications.
Professional Relationship Management. You’ll manage the morale in the Branch by setting and demonstrating a strong business ethic for dealing with employees, suppliers and customers.
Innovation. In collaboration with corporate leadership and other managers, seek to find better and more efficient ways to operate the Branch and reduce controllable expenses while achieving our service level and revenue goals. Negotiate agreements with suppliers and service providers and leverage corporate buying power or relationships whenever possible.
Leadership. Manage branch hiring, training, and ongoing career development of new employees. Understand, and adhere to, all applicable laws and regulations pertaining to the operation of the business in the Branch jurisdiction. Demonstrate and encourage teamwork and cooperation in a positive work environment.
