Job Summary

Responsible for district operations management to inlcude managing Branch Managers and support teams for the assigned district. Implement operational strategies, resolve operational issues, and provide direction and guidance for the district team. Select, train, and develop staff. This position requires the operation of a Company Vehicle or a Personal Vehicle and such operation is done consistently more than 20% of the average work week. If selected for this position, the company will run a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report. A requirement of this position is an acceptable MVR report.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

  • Collaborates with regional management to communicate district performance, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Oversees operational and day-to-day activities for assigned locations and manages a team of branch managers within the district.
  • Communicates and determines operational plan with the managers and regional Leadership.
  • Manages all district-wide operational strategy rollouts, budgets and goals.
  • Collects data and prepares reports on district performance and makes recommendations for improvements.
  • Maintains contact with the field, performing operational reviews and site visits.
  • Monitors P&L for the district and ensures operational activities are conducted within expense budget.
  • Communicates and reinforces safety compliance.

Nature and Scope

  • Solutions require analysis and investigation.
  • Achieves planned results by decisions and actions based on professional methods, business principles, and practical experience.
  • Manages a group or team of professional individual contributors and/or indirectly supervises support staff.

Work Environment

  • Usually located in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors causing moderate physical discomfort, such as dust, fumes, or odors.
  • Most of the time is spent sitting or standing in the same location and/or there may be a need to stoop regularly or move/lift light material or equipment (typically less than 8 pounds).
  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Education and Experience

  • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 7+ years of experience in a related field. May require certification. Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years territory operations management.
