Overview of the Role


*This position is a 12-month contract.

Reporting to the Manager, Demand Planning, the chosen candidate will be responsible for national-level demand planning and forecasting. This includes leading the national Demand Review process for each banner and managing weekly and annual forecasts, as well identifying trends and activating changes across all stakeholders. The role requires close collaboration with Sales, Customer Collaboration, Marketing, Warehouse, IBP and Supply Planning teams to ensure forecast accuracy and alignment.

How you will make contributions that matter:

  • Develop and maintain national weekly forecasts based on industry and market trends, including feature and promotional forecasting by product, warehouse, and product category.

  • Lead the national Demand Review process for each banner, ensuring alignment across all stakeholders.

  • Manage and analyze Organic and Inorganic Growth trends for each portfolio and perform necessary adjustments in consensus with the Consumer & Market Insights and Sales teams.

  • Identify and communicate Opportunities & Risks for each portfolio, ensuring proactive mitigation strategies are in place and stakeholders are well informed.

  • Prepare and present discussion lists for in-depth conversations with the national sales team to drive consensus and strategic alignment with forecasts and demand plan.

  • Conduct Sales & Operations Execution (S&OE) meetings with key stakeholders to ensure alignment on forecasts, address potential challenges, and communicate changes effectively.

  • Facilitate cross-functional meetings with Sales, Marketing, Category Management, Warehouse, and Supply Planning teams to anticipate changes in product demand (e.g., new product launch, de-listings, changes in distribution).

  • Improve forecast accuracy through analysis of historical order patterns, seasonal and promotional escalations, pricing strategies, product lifecycles, and customer strategic plans.

  • Partner with the Supply Planning, Customer Collaboration Sales, and Warehouse teams to optimize inventory levels, achieve targeted fill rates, and proactively mitigate the risk of product shortages, disposals, and rework at national level.

  • Analyze and communicate forecast metrics and changes to relevant stakeholders.

  • Prepare, review, and periodically update performance reports to evaluate forecast accuracy, identify trends, and uncover opportunities for continuous improvement.

  • Support and maintain Saputo Canada Dairy Products G.P. quality standards.

You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field is preferred;

  • Two to three years’ experience in forecasting and demand planning related to the dairy, food and consumer products industry;

  • Strong leadership, communication and critical thinking skills;

  • Full proficiency in forecasting software is a strong asset;

  • Experience in S&OP/IBP is a strong asset;

  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written) is required; fluency in French is a strong asset

SALARY RANGE: $66,960 - $87,890
